Hello - My husband and I are flying via Air France to FCO in September from Atlanta and have a connecting flight in Paris. We have 90 minutes before our flight to FCO leaves from our landing in CDG. I'm reading horror stories about connecting flights in CDG and that because we're flying into Europe we will have to go through immigration in Paris, not Rome. We plan on having carryons only, but does anyone have any advice on this? Is it possible to make our connection?
As long as the first flight Atlanta to Paris departs on time you will be fine. Otherwise if you miss the connection Air France will just rebook you on the next flight to FCO.
I looked at a flight changing in Paris via Air France and then to Rome with a 90 minute layover. I chickened out and opted for longer layover. But we got with no trouble to the flight I had passed on which was just beginning to board. We even tried to get on it but couldn’t change ticket once flight begins to board.
Anyway, we would have made the flight to Rome with 1.5 hours layover but if it makes you too nervous there likely is a flight with a longer layover on Air France.
