I purchased tickets Lucca-Firenze-Napoli via regional train to Firenze and then reserved Frecciarossa from there to Napoli. The emailed tickets arrived. The reserved train has barcodes, The regional train tickets have ticket codes but no barcodes. Under Passenger details it states "Not Valid For Travel". It shows that I paid 8.40 euros per regional ticket. Can someone explain how this works?

The reason it says "Not valid for travel" is due the fact that the ticket currently, right now, has not been validated.
The ticket will be automatically validated at the departure time of the scheduled train you booked... So you just have to wait for the departure of the train. And on that moment the ticket will be "Valid".
Or you can also manually validate it right now trough the app, but this is not adviced due the fact that at any time you can change the departure time and date of the train but only if the ticket has not been validated, as once it becomes "Valid for Travel", it cannot be changed.

Hi, I recommend getting the Trenitalia app on your phone. Then you can enter the ticket number from your email into the app, and it will automatically show a validation QR code when it’s your date of travel when you need to show the train conductor.
