We want to take the Campania Express from Naples to Sorrento. The schedule says it stops at Piazza Garibaldi but which one.? The Piazza Garibaldi under the main terminal would take us to the Circumvesuviana train. Is there one across the street? According to maps that is also Piazza Garibaldi. Which one is it to catch the Campania Express???
Paul, I did a little digging on this just to check my facts, and recent users of this train state that it's still in the same Garibaldi station (down the stairs at Napoli Centrale) as the regular Circumvesuviana line.
The last entries (pages 6 and 7) on this TA thread may be helpful:
Do be aware that it ends seasonal service on Oct. 15th (pretty sure that means service THROUGH the 15th but don't quote me on that) but it looks like you're leaving Sorrento on the 16th.
Yep. Same station as the regular Circumvesuviana trains (downstairs from Centrale). Just a much nicer train.
You must request specifically for the Campania Express tickets at the ticket office, otherwise you'll get the regular fare on the regular trains. It costs double though, but still cheap at 8 euro.
Very cheap. Shoot, just going the 7 miles from one end of the CT (Riomaggiore) to the other (Monterosso) is twice that if you stop in every village along the way (4 euro per ticket, per village). This is a much longer distance.
