I will be using my Roma pass for entry to the colosseum/forum/palatine hill. You now need reserved entry time for the colosseum which I have booked using coopculture and I have a receipt to show at time of entry. The entry time is later than I wanted. Rick Steves book describes the colosseum as one site. Do the forum and palatine have separate entrances so that I can visit them earlier in the day. Do they have separate tickets or a single one for the three sites. If so will they accept my coopculture receipt to indicate my booked time entry to the colosseum.
Confused.
Steve
I can’t answer all your questions but I can tell you there are separate entrances.
Your Roma Pass is good for all 3 sites (Colosseum, Forum, Palatine) and the 3 together count as a single entry on your pass even though you will enter the Colosseum and Forum/Palatine at different places.
You only need your timed-entry receipt (+ your pass) to enter the Colosseum, not the Forum/Palatine. I am not completely sure of the procedure when you arrive but your receipt should state which entrance to the arena you need to go to? I'm guessing it's maybe the "individuals" gate, and I'm guessing you'll need to pass through the security line and then go to the ticket desk with your receipt. If confused, just get there early and ask an attendant. You will be collecting your Roma Pass before you arrive, right?
You only need your Roma Pass to enter the Forum/Palatine, and as far as I know you can do them in the morning before your entry time at the Colosseum. However, these two sites are connected - you will pass from one to the other inside the security perimeter - so whether you access them from the Palatine entrance or Forum entrance, once you exit the secured area you can't get back in.
Those entrances are:
Roman Forum: Largo della Salara Vecchia 5/6
Palatine Hill: Via di San Gregorio 30
On this page - https://www.coopculture.it/en/heritage.cfm?id=4 - click "Find it on the Map" and zoom in to find these streets/entrances.
Click "Colosseum Entrance Map" on the righthand side of the page so see where the entrances are located and to find the one noted on your receipt. If you don't know what your entrance is, get there early and ask an attendant.
And do be aware that Galleria Borghese is no longer honoring the pass for free entry.
