So I have heard that the only way to climb to the top of the dome is in a guided group. Is this true?
Also, are there different tickets for everything there? Duomo, Cathedral, Museum, Bell Tower or is it all included?

I was just in Florence last week and did the dome climb. You have to book everything separately now. The dome climb requires a reservation, but I did see tour group reps outside the door trying to sell tickets. I assume they buy a bunch of tickets and then up-charge at the door. Don’t know that for a fact, but that’s just my guess. You can book online or probably at the ticket office which is on the south side of the cathedral.
