Conections from Palermo to Naples & Sorrento

We will be ending a tour in Palermo and want to stay on and travel the Amalfi Coast. Any suggestions about the best way to make such a trip?

Fly from Palermo to Naples. Then take a Curreri bus from Naples airport to Sorrento. Make Sorrento your home base. From there you can easily visit Capri, Pompeii, Positano, etc., depending on how much time you have & what you want to see.

Mary, Tom gave you all the right answers. Use Whichbudget.com to find flights on one of lo-cost inter-EU airlines. read their luggage size and weight rules closely. When you get off the plane in Naples you litterly step a couple of feet outside the terminal and the bus to Sorrento is waiting for you. Load your luggage in the luggage compartment and enjoy the short ride to Sorrento. Sorrento is the perfect base to see the area. Make sure that you eat dinner at some of the awesome neat restaurants along the waterfront in Sorrento. The museum in Naples is a "must". Make sure that you have Rick's Italy book; all of your travel connections, etc. are explained with great detail.

Just did this exact thing following RS tour of Sicily in May. Above suggestions are perfect. We flew Alitalia, booked well in advance and paid about 60 Euros for the flight if I remember correctly. The bus from Naples airport to Sorrento is very easy and scenic. Dont' forget to leave time for a visit to Pompeii - 25 min by train from Sorrento. Have a wonderful trip!
