In modern times, conclaves usually last no more than five days. But the 1268 conclave lasted 1006 days ending in 1271; people of Viterbo, where cardinals were meeting, decided to locked them in a palace (cum clave, with a lock, hence the name).
But keep in mind that just because the conclave ends, the Sistine chapel and other attractions will not reopen the next day. It will take sometime. I don’t know how long I’m probably just a few days but sometime to remove things that were put in there for the Cardinals and their sports staff, they are not normally there, like chairs.
Actually, I ran into some information on the conclave mentioned above in Viterbo this weekend. Not only did they lock them in the city. They started boarding up
the windows, and when that they they took off part of the roof. I couldn’t find the original source I read, which was a little more scholarly, but I did find this.

Now I know why ESPN is covering the event.
I could fix my typo, but it is entertaining so I think I’ll just leave it. LOL
I have tickets for May 12th. Really really hoping I get to see the Sistine chapel. It's my main reason for Italy, and not sure if I'll be able to return in my lifetime.
