I just read Eileen's comment on this establishment (Lori's question) and am very concerned. I recently reserved the top 2 rooms from her for my son, d-i-l, husband and myself. I was so excited to finally decide on a place and now I'm very worried since she appears not to stand by the reservations she takes and you don't know this till you show up and then it's too late. I wanted to stay in Vernazza and I wnated a room with a view (how can you stay in the CT and settle on a room w/o a view). The reviews sounded perfect but I just bought RS's new Italy book and he even states she might not be reliable. Has anyone else stayed with her with any problems?

I've just re-confirmed my reservations for 2 weeks from now and was told everything was in order. I'll let you know when we get there.
Does anyone know how far from the train station her place is?

I haven't read Eileen's comment but we stayed here last month and absolutely loved it! Elizabetta's English is not the best, but she was quite sincere and checked to make sure if we needed anything now and then, but pretty much left us alone which was fine with us. I booked our room 8 months before our trip. Sent an email 2 months before our departure to reconfirm and then reconfirmed again 2 days before we left. I do this with all of the reservations that we make. If, for some reason she did mess up the reservation, there are numerous people, like Elisabetta,who rent rooms throughout Vernazza and I don't think it would be hard to find one on a pinch. Just ask someone at the first shop you see and they are all so friendly, I'm sure someone would be more than happy to help you. By the way, we stayed in one of the top 2 rooms - it was certainly not the Ritz but to us it was perfect. Be prepared for the climb and pack as light as you can. Have a wonderful trip!

Thank you Chris and Lise. You both put my mind at ease. I'm hoping the incident with Eileen is not the usual with Elisabetta. So yes Chris, please let me know how your stay went. I guess I will stick with the reservation and hope for the best. I will take your suggestion Lise and call 2 months and 2 weeks before to remind and confirm with her.
