Como Tours ending in Bellagio, or late morning tours in Bellagio

We are signed up for this tour, which begins in Varenna and ends in Bellagio. Rick recommends it in his Italy guidebook, and the TripAdvisor reviews are fabulous.

Woooof, got a proposal and this was the cost - Costs more than my airfare from ORD to ZRH :-(

leave from Como at 09.00 a.m., cruise up to Villa del Balbianello
where you will stop to visit the gardens, take the boat to cruise up
to Villa Gaeta, stop to swim and arrive in Bellagio at 12.30 a.m.

Boat tour + tour guide + Villa del Balbianello tickets €1438,00.

Looks like I'll plan on taking a fast boat from Como to Bellagio, then find a tour there

That does seem extra high - more than we're paying for a family of 4. However, I do know that there are several variations of the tour - some private, some small group, some with extended time on the boat, etc.

Also, they offer a Rick Steves discount - 15% with code "ricksteves".

It might be worth a try to e-mail them back and ask for some other options. I found the office to be extremely helpful and patient in my back-and-forths with them.

It has these options and I do want to see Villa del Balbianello, I do wish I could see some more towns there but this seems to capture a good chunk of activities in central Lake area
