This is my day trip planning from Milan to visit Como.
1) taking train from milan to como
2) may explore como based on how much time I Have
3) taking ferry from como to Varenna (como-colico). I have chosen Varenna as it has train connect to milan directly.
My questions are :
1) I find bellagio more exciting place to explore than Varenna. So , can I get down from the ferry at bellagio and take the next ferry to reach to Varenna so that I can catch train back to Milan ?
Why not just train straight to Varenna, take the ferry from there to Bellagio, and then take the ferry back to catch your return train to Milan? As I recall, the ferry only took 15 minutes or so from Varenna to Bellagio when we did it (from Bergamo via Lecco to Varenna).
Yes, I'll reverse the order as suggested above, and I will add that once in Bellaggio, when you're "done" you'll see if you have enough time to take ferry or bus to Como and visit Como, or if you'd rather just backtrack to Milan.
