Does anyone know if the San Giovanni train station in Como has a place for someone to leave their luggage for a few hours. We are planning to arrive in Como from Varenna via the boat, on our way to Milan via the train, and we would like to a few hours to explore Como and maybe take the Funicular to Brunate.
Is there a website that shows the inside of the train station?

Yes, there is left luggage storage at the Como's San Giovanni train station.
Be careful. The San Giovanni station is outside of town, over a km from the boat docks. There is a train station right next to the harbor, Como Lago, but it is on a private line (Trenord) that also goes into Milan.
Como's San Giovanni station is the Trenitalia station. It's a 20-minute walk to the lakefront, but buses also run between the station and lakefront.

Como Lago doesn't have left luggage storage.

There is definitely left luggage storage at the San Giovanni train station in Como, not lockers, but a room with staff at a cost of €3,50 per bag.
Cathy, always pay attention to the opening/closing hours for left luggage. The Como San Giovanni station is small, not complicated. Last time I was in Como (3 years ago), I took a local bus from the station to the lake.
