We are 2 couples planning a trip to northern Italy in late September, flying in and out of Milan, and we would like to use Como as our "home base" for part of the trip to explore the lakes region and southern Switzerland. We are looking for a 4 star plus hotel that has queen or king beds (not always easy to find in Europe) and preferably has a lake view in walking distance to good restaurants. We are also open to other suggestions in that general area of nearby towns that meet the same criteria.
