Has anyone taken this?
-Is it a ride up and a ride down, or do you have to walk down?
Any other comments, experiences about the town of Brunate and Como would be lovely.

It is public transportation between Como and Brunate. Of course you can ride down.

Took the finiculare both ways to/from Brunate. Cute little village at the top with a souvenir shop and cafe. We did a bit of hiking on the paved road. Gorgeous views.
