Como-Brunate Funicular

I am hoping to make a stop in Como (to ride the Funicular to Brunate) on my way from MXP to Varenna.
1. Will I need to drive through a ZTL in Como to reach the funicular?
2. If so, how can I avoid this area?
3. When I do reach the funicular, any idea of best place to park in order to ride it?
