I went to the website to buy Colussium/Forum tickets so I don't have to wait in lines and it never asks for a day and time. How will this reserve me a time and allow me to skip the lines?

The Colosseum doesn't require a timed entry. The longest line is to buy tickets and that's what you get to skip. A separate staffer will check and punch tickets at the gate.

When they used the old system you would need to pick a date and time, now the tickets are open ended. You can use them any time before December 31rst. Just show up and they'll direct you to the proper line.

You can also go the Roman Forum and Palentine Hill and buy the same tickets that get you into the Colussium--without the lines.
