Column of Marcus Aurelius open to tourists?

Hi everyone, does anyone know if the Column of Marcus Aurelius is open to tourists? There is a staircase inside (about 200 steps) leading to the platform on the top. Some websites say it is not allowed to go inside anymore. But some travelers post on the Internet pictures with views from the platform. Any ideas?
