Colosseum website

I tried to purchase tickets on the https://www.coopculture.it/ websit. I wanted to purchase tickets for 4 adult in Sept, for third ring, underground and guide (the guide was only 5eu more. The instructions are confusing. So I called and spoke wit and English speaking rep? I was told I could do it online, but so far no luck. I got thru with 14eu tickets, but can't get the third ring and underground done. And of course getting the guide added is a mystery. Also tired using a website mention in early post but they sent back to coopculture site.
Has anyone purchased tickets, if so how?

If they follow the pattern of the last 6 months, you won't be able to book underground/third-ring tours for Sept. on the coopculture website until the third Monday in August. See this page:

https://www.coopculture.it/en/ticket.cfm?office=Colosseo%2C%20Sotterranei%20e%20Terzo%20Ordine&id=0&evento=6

"It will be possibile to book on website underground Tours for individuals and underground group entrances every third Monday of the month for the following month"

The office opens at 9:00 AM ROME time on the third Monday of the month so if you live in the U.S, it means getting up in the middle of the night to try and get reservations. Failing that, there are private companies which also offer tours albeit more expensive ones. Or you can try to get tickets for the evening tour.

You do not book a guide for third ring/underground tours as a guide is included in the ticket: tourists can ONLY see these parts of the colosseum with a guided tour.

The 5-euro guided tours you're seeing on this page (link below) are not for the Underground/third ring. They are for the main part of the Colosseum only. Underground/third-ring tours are € 9.00: listed below the info for booking 5-euro tours.

The 14-euro tickets are general entry for the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine, and required IN ADDITION TO tickets for underground/third ring daytime tours.

I have done it and although it is a nightmare to book it is worth it. You have to book the underground tour when it first goes on sale in the middle of the month prior to when you want to take the tour. You can google the site for the date it first goes on sale. The ticket office in Rome opens at 9 AM and tickets disappear fast. So being in Florida 6 hours earlier than Rome I was on my computer at 3AM and was knocked off the site more times than I can count. I finally booked at 6:15 AM. No joke. This is an experience that everyone complains about. One thing I did finally figure out is that when you are in the process of booking ( and be sure you have your credit card in front of you) and it throws you off the site it doesn't let go of your request right away so when you get back on the site it shows those tickets are no longer available. Of course that is not true because you don't have the tickets. So you have to just keep at it. Once you book it the guide is part of the underground third ring tour. Heck. What's one night's sleep.?There were three of us and we were glad I did it.
