Colosseum underground tours

Does anyone know when July tickets come on sale? It "appears" that those might start on May 1 - is that correct?

Also, I know I need to buy separate tickets for admission and the underground tour. For the underground tour, it seems as it is a flat rate of 9 euro plus a 2 euro reservation fee no matter what the age. However, I am bringing my 3 children - 2 are under 18 and 1 is a student who is 19. For my 2 that are under 18, it seems as if they are free for the regular admission (but not the underground tour) - correct? But for my over 18 year old student, do I need to purchase a full fare regular admission ticket since she is not an EU student - correct?

Lastly, if we buy the Roma pass - does that just get us in no matter what and we go straight to the underground tour -IF I can even get a spot? They are sold out except for just a couple of spots all the way to the end of June already.

No, tickets for July will go on sale mid June. This is their new process, they release tickets in two month blocks two weeks before the last dates that are currently available.

Yes, your kids who are under 18 will get in for free with proof of age. Bring their passports as proof. They will pay full price for the underground tour. If your 19 year old is not an EU citizen then she doesn't qualify for any discounts and will pay full price for admission and the underground tour.

If you purchase the romapass you use that just to get inside. You still need to check in for the tour and find out where they are meeting but you won't pay for admission. The romapass has nothing to do with the underground tour which you will still need to book.

Great, thanks. That makes it nerve racking as we leave for Italy on the 24th and will be in Rome the first 4 days of July. Do they announce a specific time? I know this last one the computer system crashed. Is it better to call or just go through the system?

So, if we wanted tickets for mid September, when would those go on sale? It looks like maybe mid August?

Marie, they released the last set of tickets on the 18th at 1pm. They should put an announcement on the site as it gets closer to the date.

Gabe, they should release tickets for September in mid August.
