Colosseum Underground Tour Cancellation

I knew in advance that my underground colosseum tour might get cancelled from following this forum. I received an email from Walks of Italy cancelling my tour for 3 days from now. I’m not upset with them because I knew that sometimes they can get tickets and sometimes they can’t.

I am just sharing this as a data point that even confirmed tours often get cancelled when it comes to the Underground.

Hi Carol, I was in Rome a week ago. There were groups selling various types of tours outside the Colosseum. Hopefully there’s an option that might appeal to you. Have a great time! …and check out the Tiramisu place I mentioned in my trip report, if you get a chance! It’s between the Pantheon & Piazza Navona.

Carol, I'm so sorry about your tour but kudos for taking it so well in stride!

I wouldn't personally buy a Colosseum tour or tickets from a street hawker, especially if they promise access to the arena and/or underground, but maybe someone here has done that successfully.

Walks cancelled my Borghese Gallery tour a couple weeks ago. Immediately went to Borghese website and grabbed tickets. Historic sites with reduced flow through due to Covid not as generous with tour companies this year.
