I've been searching the posts to see if anyone has mentioned this. I read on a tour site that the Colosseum underground just opened again last weekend! We are heading to Italy next week and are hoping this is true...and wondernig, how do we get a ticket to enter that area? Are you required to take a tour, if so, does anyone have one they would recommend? If anyone has up to date info, would be greatly apprecaited.

The underground is open again. You cannot visit it on your own, you must be on a tour. As of right now you can only book by phone, the website is not listing the tour. You can call: 011 39 06 39967700 Be sure to take the time change into account when you call. Donna
