Colosseum, Underground and Third Ring tickets

October, November and December tickets open up on September 18. Do they go live on-line at the same time or is it better to call? We are going October 10th.

They go live at 9am Rome time. I would buy online. You can buy your entry tickets now so that all you'll need to purchase is the tour.

I would buy them the day the go online. We did this tour earlier this month, it was wonderful. I stayed up till midnight and bought the tickets online at 9 am rome time. I am very glad I did because they filled up by the end of the next day for the date and time I wanted. I now know why, a tour company bought almost all of the tickets. Our family of 4 and another family of 2 were the only people not on the tour group. So I guess there is another way to see the underground third ring tour, but I can't imagine how much they mark it up.

This may sounds stupid, but where are you buying your tickets from? I'm going to Rome in September and when I go to the Colosseum's website, you don't have to pick a day. Is there a different site I should be using to be able to purchase the underground/third ring tickets?

Thanks!

Melissa, they don't ask you to pick a day for general admission tickets - which you must buy IN ADDITION to your tour - but they do require you to pick an open day/time slot for tours.

You want to buy a guided tour in English, so click on that. You get this page:

http://etickets.coopculture.it/index.php/en/component/snapp/?view=event&id=28410C15-602F-4539-A210-CE0B6183CEFB

Then select the date - be sure to use European dating of day/month/year - you want and buy tickets for whatever times are still available on that date. You also have to purchase those general entry tickets but as stated at the top of the page, you can buy those at the reservation desk when you arrive for your tour.

Underground tour tickets are sold out through the end of September on the official website. You can still buy entry tickets but you won't be able to book the tour through the official website. You'll need to find a private company who still has availability if you wish to take the tour.

Ah. I didn't run the date, Donna, but had a suspicion that the tours were probably sold out.

The underground tours sold out within a week of being released. There were random, single tickets available on some dates but the majority of underground tours for July, August and September were sold out by the end of June. People need to book as soon as they become available or they won't get on a tour.
