They are only releasing tickets in 2 month blocks. The next set of tickets won't go on sale until mid April. Just keep checking the website.

I think the May dates are now available. I just this week signed up through Walks of Italy for this tour when I saw them listed on Monday.

No, the official website only has slots listed through the end of April. That tour company is making advanced bookings in the hope that the site will continue with the tours. I would wait and book with the official website and save the money. I haven't heard any stories of people not getting the dates and times they've wanted from the official website. No need to pay anther company more for the same tour.

I'm planning to go for the tour in May as well, but I just checked out the website and it seems like the next block of tickets that they will be selling is for June and July 2015? I'm so confused because the website doesn't say anything about May. Is the tour always available or there are some months that the tour wouldn't be available?

"Saturday, February 14th - from 1 pm : opening of reservations for the Colosseum Undergrounds for June and July 2015
Saturday, April 18th, in occasion of the first day available to book the access to the Colosseum Undergrounds for the period of June and July 2015, the Reservation Office will exceptionally be open until 5 pm. It will be possible to book single access tickets online as well, through the website www.coopculture.it, also starting from Saturday, April 18th at 1 pm."

I believe there is a glitch in the system right now as you're not able to book for May, June or July right now. You can try calling to see if you can book over the phone.

I'm trying to book a third ring tour for May 8 or 9 in the morning (9am-ish) and there is a 11 euro option and a 2 euro option (that says FREE + reservation fee). What's the catch?

Also, is there a place to buy a combined admission + tour ticket? Trying to condense it all into one transaction if that means less booking fees... Or is it a 2 euro reservation fee per ticket/person regardless? In that case, should I just reserve for the tour now and get my Colosseum entrance ticket later/day of? Or is it better to just get it all online?

And last question-- if I get the Roma pass, then I only need to buy the supplemental tour ticket, correct?

I think the FREE + 2 Euro is for kids.

Only kids under 12 take the tour for free. Anyone 12 and over will pay full price for the tour. People who cannot visit the third tier can take the tour for the reduced price.

There is no way to book a combo ticket for entry and the tour. You must add both to your cart. You will pay the reservation fees for each. If you buy the romapass then you only need to book and pay for the tour. You can do that online.

We tried to get tickets Saturday from 7am and found it steadily busy. Calling was no help. Finally late that afternoon after pretty much giving up, I decided I'd try 'one more time' and to my amazement I got through. It at first told me tickets weren't available for May 18 but when I tried for the 17th, it showed a listing including the 18th. I don't think the website is the best but we finally did get the tickets.

We got our tickets for the 31st of May. The website showed 25 slots available but kept saying no tickets available when I requested 4. Then I looked in my cart and there were 4 tickets. Website sure is glitchy but just takes patience. I sure am happy they have the option of internet booking. :)

Did you only buy tickets for the tour? I have bought tickets for the tour only because on the website it states - "IN ORDER TO VISIT THE UNDERGROUND IT'S ALSO NECESSARY TO BUY THE COLOSSEUM ENTRANCE TICKET AT THE RESERVATION DESK"

I bought tickets for the underground/3rd ring tour and for general admission. Last time I was there, you needed both (last year). If you have the roma pass, you can use your it for admission as well as long as it is at the same time. You could buy the tickets at the ticket office but I just bought them online before.

You can buy them either online or at the ticket desk but buying them at the ticket desk causes a backup because it takes a few minutes. If you end up running late for the tour this backup could cause you to miss it.
