Our Walks of Italy Colosseum Tour for Monday May 27th was cancelled. The email states that "We have just received official notification from Colosseum Management that they have had to reschedule our May 27th reservations"
Does anyone know if this means all tours on May 27th will be cancelled? Tours on the official site are of course sold out but I'm not sure if I should look into alternative tour companies or what.

Best to call Walks of Italy directly to get an accurate answer.
I think the Colosseo has been going through some changes; therefore it probably will affect some ticket holders.
Not sure if all tour companies have the issue. Looking at The Roman Guy may result in the same.

I'm seeing some other tours still available on the Walks website - I'll give them a call as soon as I can. It looks like maybe just the underground access is impacted.

lol, I understand. No worries...you'll often hear this phrase in Rome - "don't worry..."
I chuckle now at how often I "did" hear it while out and about. They really don't stress. Hopefully it will work in your favor.

yes, I just received an email that my May 24th Colosseum Tour was also cancelled. They (Walks of Italy) included in the email that they could reschedule us in to the VIP Night tour on the same day, so we went with that and the schedule may end up being better for us anyway.
It is a little unsettling that plans you made months ago are now disrupted, but a relaxed attitude does go a long way. Have a great trip!

@jbotkin - Glad it worked out for you too! Trying to roll with things as much as possible - I think it just really caught me off guard to be this close. We have a couple more tours booked with walks so I hope nothing changes with those. Hope you have a great time in Italy!
I just received an e-mail from Walks of Italy that our Underground Colosseum tour was cancelled. I've very upset because I could have booked this with the Colosseum but choose this tour company because of the recommendations. Has anyone else had their Underground tour cancelled?
@susieq - I was in Rome last week and took the Best of Rome Tour with Walks of Italy and was very pleased. It included the Colosseum of which the underground is currently on full restoration work. This is probably why your tour was canceled. I am sure Walks of Italy will offer an alternative.
A lot of times these companies cannot get all the tickets for the tours they've sold so they have to cancel on their customers. This is very common and one of the reasons I don't buy tours through third party vendors.

How long is the underground tour canceled. I booked it through the cooperative site. I am going June 14
The coopculture underground tours have not been cancelled and there's nothing on the website about restoration work happening in that area. My guess is that WOI couldn't get tickets, had a conflict with available guides or some other complication.
Coopculture and 3rd party companies did cancel all Belvedere (Panoramic) tours back in early April through the end of May so there probably is some sort of work occurring in that section.
I was able to book the Colosseum at night tour but it doesn't include the Roman Forum. I have been trying to find a tour for the Roman Forum/Palatine Hill but it is impossible as all tours include the Colosseum. Any suggestions?
