I've read so much about numerous Colosseum tours available, and the problems with booking the underground tour, etc. I'm planning on buying an entrance pass in advance for sure, but is it really not suggested to just enter and then book a tour onsite, whether underground or otherwise?

The underground tour is very popular and sells out quickly. If it were as easy as walking in and joining a tour you wouldn't have so many people stressing about not being able to book online and needing to call. If you want to do the underground tour you should book in advance otherwise you run the very real risk of not getting on the tour. Donna
