We are planning to do a tour of Colosseum in early Sept- I see lots of options but not sure which is better time- AM or PM?
I can make either time work with the rest of our plans in Rome- just wonder about heat, crowds, etc.

It's cooler in the mornings and the evenings so either time will work for you. I don't think it makes much difference in terms of crowds. The tours are capacity controlled.

Do it morning or evening. Even in September it can be pretty hot in the PM.

It would be for me. No only hot but humid as well.

I was there Sept 29 and did the AM tour. Towards the end of the tour it started to get hot. I'd imagine the PM tour would be a little hotter. For pictures the sun was in a great location on my shots
