Colosseum Tour

I found this tour for the Colosseum Undrground and Belvedere, but since it is not until September 2020 they can not confirm tickets until late May. Tour Is this how other tour companies work as well? Would it be wise to book a tour with another company in case they do not get tickets and cancel once tickets are confirmed? I don't want to book two tours, but I also don't want to miss out on getting a tour.

All of our tickets and reservations are confirmed and paid for with Walks of Italy for September. They are cancellable, also. I think a 48 or 72 hour window, can’t remember.

niekamdt, I've never seen that website before and, based on the poor writing in the tour description, I personally wouldn't touch it. IMHO, it's also overpriced for JUST the Colosseum; you can get a tour which also includes the Forum and Palatine for that 139-euro price tag or at least pay much less for a Colosseum-only tour.

Also note that two of the three Belvedere levels of the Colosseum have been closed for repairs for some time, and there's no indication when they'll reopen.

Go with one of the trusted operators that RS forum posters have used and recommended. Walks of Italy - which Lulu mentioned, is one of them, and The Roman Guy, Context, and City Wonders are a few others. The Colosseum/Forum/Palatine also have their own ticket vendor - coopculture - but because of the extremely economical pricing, tickets tend to sell out very quickly upon release so they can be tough to land. The website also isn't particularly intuitive.

Editing to add: it bothers me that the tour you linked states that it includes, "Roman Forum and House of Vestals, Roman Senate and Triumphal Arches, Sacred Way and the Palatine Hill." It does not, and you don't get to that detail until you get into the expanded, poorly written description:

"The view available to the visitors of the Colosseum Belvedere is already amazing from the third level, as you have a complete overview from the top of the Colosseum lower levels, the arena and even the underground area which is partially uncovered. The view of Arch of Constantine from here is particularly suggestive, as you can see the giant triumphal arch right under your eyes at a distance that is just perfect to catch the details ina big picture. Take photographs of the Arch of Constantine, the Palatine Hill and the Temple of Venus and Roma from here, and you will have amazing images to take home and show your friends and family."

Seeing the Palatine Hill and Forum sites from the Colosseum's 3rd-ring distance is not the same as closer up in the Forum and Palatine Hill themselves.
