Is the bottom (basement) level of the Colosseum open for tours now? Do I book a tour with the Colosseum in order to view this level? How do I go about doing this? Thanks.

The underground section of the colosseum is still closed. It has not been announced when they will re-open. You can keep checking the website and book when those tours resume. http://www.ticketclic.it/Gb/HTML/musei/colosseo.cfm Use the "collect onsite" option near the middle of the page. Once the tour becomes available it will say "sotteranea" meaning subterranean or underground. Donna

There is still nothing on the official website but I would certainly check back on the 7th to see if they are listing the tour. Donna

I read that it reopens on Easter Sunday. Any suggestions for the best way to get tickets to tour the hypogeum and top floors?
