Colosseum tickets - why can’t I get any

I’ve tried over and over to book any type of tickets to the Colosseum and none of them work. I’ve changed dates times. There’s a website sometimes have a glitch? It looks like there’s plenty of availability for the dates and times I’m looking for, but when I add tickets to my car, it says it cannot be added, and there’s some error.

And if that doesn't work, try switching devices (smartphone, tablet, PC).

This stuff is maddening. I know this might not make sense, but try setting your phone/computer to local time. That works for me when I have unexplained issues. Good luck!

I tried numerous times in 2024 to get tickets and would get through the process, enter payment info and nothing finalized. It is frustrating and time consuming. Finally after thinking it would never happen I was able to get night tour tickets (which was a great time to go, quiet and no crowds).
I don’t know what the secret is and felt like tickets were in the cart and someone beat me to the final purchase. Interesting idea to change the time zone.
You might email the Colosseum and see if they have suggestions.

I think problems getting your payment method accepted are usually due to the (lack of) security features on some US credit cards. That is reported fairly often here; the first thing I try is using PayPal, but that is not an option on every website. The next things to try is to grab every credit card and every debit card you own, and try each one. If no luck there, you can try calling one credit-card company after another and asking whether if can alter the security settings. They're not always willing to do that, or the issue may be on the foreign end, but sometimes a solution can be found.
This situation sounds different, as if imprat hasn't been able to get the desired tickets into the shopping cart.

I'm having issues with the website as well. It won't allow me to input a quantity of tickets, even for the Forum which isn't timeslot metered entrance. I've sent a message to the website operator and they gave a blanket statement of 'they know of the issue and they were working on it' without any timeframe when it will be fixed. I've tried purchasing on Italian time as well as any other hours local to USA. They also provided the option to purchase in person, however that's really not the point of online ticketing, now is it? I'm going to try a VPN and set it to Italy to see if that works.

^^^^ Results: VPN did not solve this issue. I guess it's waiting in line. See you all there.

I'm sorry you there seems to be no solution until they fix things on the Italian end. It does seem as if there are more challenges with Italian websites than others -- at least for US visitors.
