Last minute trip to Italy - have a couple of days in Rome - have never been to the colosseum- trip happening in a couple weeks - any suggestions on ticket tour strategy?

Personally, I would skip the tickets that include the underground portion It takes just under an hour & is worth 15 minutes. You can see into the underground portion from the Arena floor.. Perhaps get a private guide to maximize efficiency. RS has guide recommendations & if they are booked they can recommend qualified colleagues.
