Colosseum tickets-colosseo.it not reachable—Thank you!!

I have been trying for an hour or more to connect to the website recommended by another guidebook to purchase colosseum tickets from this supposed official website and can not connect. There are lots of other websites that pop up when I search in google but I am not sure which are legitimate and which are just jacking up the price. Has anyone been able to reach this site or does anyone have a site they can recommend which will allow me to purchase a ticket for full access? (I’m interested in the attic and I understand you have to purchase a different ticket but have yet to find that option on the websites I have seen.)

Thanks for any help-getting frustrated. ( I tried searching for recent responses regarding these tickets but seem to get very old posts with info from 5-10 years ago. if there’s a way to filter for recent responses let me know.)

Very helpful advice everyone! I got to the page today and will try and do a dummy date in the next day or two. Am reconciling myself to the fact that the attic may not be possible at this point. We were hoping for Oct 11th. There’s been other crises at home and time got away from me.

When using the Search function you need to filter by Type-Travel Forum and Date-6 m, 1 yr, etc

That is the correct website -only active for ticket sales during open hours Rome time

Hi Kate

I will try to help and walk you through it, but I use Google as my search engine, so you might get different results if using something else. And you are correct, coloseo.it by itself won't connect for me either.

Google colosseum. Up pops the information about the colosseum and if you're on your laptop, scroll down to tickets-- official site. It should be at the top. After, it will list Get your Guide ,etc.

This will get you to colosseo.it and the default ticket. To get the other ticket options, there is something to click on but I'm on my phone right now---on my phone it's the bars in the top corner 😅

Then scroll to singles. Click on singles and all the different types of tickets will pop up.

For the Attic.....they make those available 30 days in advance and only sell 8 per section. They offer them every 20 minutes. Italy time.
So you will need to be online at, for example, 12:30 a.m. if you live on the west coast in order to try to buy 1 or 2 of those 8 tickets for 9:30 a.m. 30 days from now.

Practice in advance for a dummy date.

Yeah that site crashes a lot so it’s not just you. The attic tickets are really limited and tend to go quick so best bet is to just keep checking back.

I tried a dummy purchase for the Attic tickets yesterday. (OK, in the middle of the night). The first tickets time slots sold too fast, but I was able to find 2 available for 11:30 a.m.

So if you're flexible for day and time, you might be successful.

...but it's only active during the hours the Colosseum (+ Forum and Palatine) are open. The official ticketing portal, however, is open 24/7. https://ticketing.colosseo.it/en

They don't have a ticket that includes BOTH attic and underground so it's one or the other, and both can be very difficult to get hands on as they tend to sell out in a flash upon becoming available. In that case, go with one of the other options on the page which still has available tickets..
