Colosseum Ticket site to use for May Tour

We will be going online to buy our Colosseum tickets for our tour in May. I understand that the official site to buy the tickets has changed from Coop Culture to a new site, www.colosseo.it.
Is this correct? Will they still be available 30 days out?

Kay, this is the website for tickets beyond this month (in English):
https://colosseo.it/en/

This is the ticketing page of the website:
https://ticketing.colosseo.it/en/categorie/singoli-1-8-persone/

Right now, tickets for individuals which include the underground and arena are not available until April 8; no idea if they'll be for dates 30 days out but I'd guess chances are more than not that's the case.

According to the "Purchase" calendars on "Full Experience" and " 24-hour Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine" tickets are available now for visits on May 1 and 2, so approx 30 days in advance.

https://ticketing.colosseo.it/en/eventi/full-experience/
https://ticketing.colosseo.it/en/eventi/24h-colosseo-foro-romano-palatino/

If interested in other options on the page, give 'em a click.
PS: As with some other Italian websites, this one has not come up for me during the hours the attractions aren't open. That may change now that it has become a ticketing hub but I'll have to test it later.

Kathy, I do see where the site is only up during open hours. I went out to do a “test” purchase and when I clicked on the ticket link, it sent me to the Coop Culture site. So confusing. Maybe when I buy my tickets on May 7, I should just go to the Coop Culture site.
Also, I go out and buy tickets 720 hours from the time I want to go. Correct? If I am going at 2:00 in the afternoon, I buy that ticket at 5:00 am Central time in the US (7 hours out since Italy’s a 7 hour difference from us). Correct?

I need to try to purchase tickets later this week for a May 6 visit.

Kathy, thank you so much for the information that the new ticketing site has launched! Like some others, I had received the locked out message from the coop culture site a number of weeks ago, so have only been able to check sporadically when I’m on a network other than my own.

Has anyone purchased tickets on the new site yet? What was your experience like?

Do you know whether they release all tickets for a given date at the same time, or whether it’s like the old site and (for example) 8:50 a.m. tickets are available at 8:50 but 9:10 a.m. tickets aren’t available until 9:10, etc? Our guide has suggested we try to purchase Attico tickets (I’m not even going to attempt to purchase underground tickets) and when I look at these early morning my time/mid afternoon Rome time they are already sold out for the day. I’d love to know how the distribution works in advance.

Does anyone know whether the new ticket site also locks people out if they try to get on multiple times?

Thank you.

Kay, at what point were you routed to Coop Culture? I went as far as looking for specific tickets on a test date, putting in the number of tickets I wanted, and remained on the new site. I did not actually click to purchase. Is that when you were kicked back to coop culture? This is certainly an extra level of confusion added to what was already a super challenging process!

Maybe when I buy my tickets on May 7, I should just go to the Coop
Culture site.

No. The site provides a specific button for tickets purchased for visits after May 1. I wasn't kicked to the Coopculture site when going as far as possible with a dummy booking. I can't get in right now to try again because, "We are experiencing a high volume of traffic and using a virtual queue to limit the amount of users on the website at the same time. This will ensure you have the best possible online experience." My wait time is 3 minutes, and I don't want to tie up the queue site when people who NEED tickets are waiting too.

Also, I go out and buy tickets 720 hours from the time I want to go.

No idea. Things may have changed with the new ticketing vendor. If you need tickets for May 7, I'd be up early and onto the system when they (should) go on say April 7 ROME time. Honestly, this is all SO new that I don't know if anyone else has definite answers for those questions. Same for you, Ruth: wish I had answers but I don't, and they could still be working out some bugs.

Just to add, during the brief time I was into ticketing for one of the options, it looked like ALL time slots for a particular date were up for choosing as long as they hadn't sold out for that slot already. Will check again at some point,

Kathy, when I clicked on Tickets on the new site, it went to the Coop Culture site. I’ll keep playing with it to try and figure it out. Thanks for all your help!!

Kathy, thanks so much for helping us to navigate this brave new world of ticketing!

Does anyone have any idea as to whether the problem of the site locking down if you visit it too frequently (the Coop Culture error message) will persist or has been eliminated with the change in vendor? I’d love to try an early a.m. (2 a.m.) test run a couple of days in advance of when we need to purchase this weekend but I’m nervous to try because I don’t want to get kicked out for getting on several times this week.
Thanks!

Ruth, I wish I could do more for you guys but like I said, it's VERY new. Until more people have ordered tickets through the new portal and can offer firsthand experience, I'm at a loss.

I am seeing that while the general Parco Colosseo site appears not to be active during the off hours, the ticketing section does come up for me:
https://ticketing.colosseo.it/

I can go into "Individuals", choose, say, the 24 hr. ticket for the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine, chose a day (right now just May 1 or 2), time slot and number of tickets (2), and go through to the part I probably shouldn't complete for a dummy booking: fill in my name/surname, and the same for the 2nd visitor I'm supposedly purchasing for. Is it after you've filled in that info and confirmed that you're thrown into the coopculture site?

Kathy, I think it’s Kay that said she was routed to Coop Culture. I haven’t tried going any farther than selecting a date, ticket type, and number of people because I’m nervous about getting locked out of the new site just like I was with Coop Culture. I’m trusting my experience will be the same as yours when I try to make our actual purchase at 2 a.m. this Saturday. I’m debating trying to get on super early on Thursday just to see what’s available, but I don’t want to end up in a similar situation where I’m locked out, so I’m not sure if I’ll do that or not…

My stars, this is quite the convoluted process, thank you for sharing here. I just started trying to figure this out on Saturday and was hoping it was an Easter holiday weekend outage, but y'all have taught me a lot. I'll be there mid-May and hope to secure some tickets, if you are successful please share your tips! Good luck!

Morgan, it actually looks to me like it's going to be a less convoluted process than booking on the Coopculture site. Just feels like it has a cleaner look, less text to wade through, etc. Advertised high-volume wait times in the purchase queue is new but not big deal, IMHO.

Anyway, I'm seeing a chat over on TA forum that pretty much reflects what I'm seeing as far as separate boxes to click for tickets up to May 1 and after, and ticketing up and active during the hours the rest of the website is inactive, etc.; nothing additional so far to add to the chat we're having here.

Will keep an eye out. :O)
