Colosseum, Rome - Which site to get tickets from?

Hi! I'm taking a trip to Rome with a friend in early April. I'm looking to get tickets for some places early, since I know you can save money/time by doing that. Specifically for the Colosseum, though, I'm finding that there are lots of third party sites selling tickets. Is there an official Colosseum site for tickets, or is there a third party site you especially recommend? I'd love to hear any other thoughts about third party tickets sites vs. 'official' tickets.

Thanks so much!!

You'll never save any money on Colosseum tickets going through a 3rd party website. With some exceptions, most of us recommend using official ticket vendors whenever possible.

Your issue right now is what you want to be able to access at the Colosseum, and the availability of tickets for those areas. Some of them, such as the underground, can only be accessed with a tour or "accompanied" visit, and in both cases the Coopculture tickets for those are sold out through April 20/21 (as of today). If you're fine not accessing the underground - you can see down into it from above - then you're good to go; just buy a standard-access ticket. You will need to choose a specific day and time slot.

If you're determined to see the underground, then you will need to watch the website closely to see if some tickets come up (people cancel sometimes) or go through a 3rd party. That's one of the exceptions mentioned above.
