Headed to Italy soon on the Best of Venice, Florence, & Rome in 10 days tour. The itinerary says that the Colosseum is included in the tour, but to what extent? Could someone who has been on this tour tell me how much Colosseum is inlcuded? Like, just a walk around the outside or actually going inside? I don't want to buy extra tickets if not needed.

On our best of Europe in 21 days tour last fall the Colosseum tour was with a great local guide and included a walk inside up above and down on a platform overlooking the arena floor and view into the area below the floor. No extra ticket needed. We did not go down into the "basement", that may have been a separate admission. Great tour.
