I would like to book a tour that includes the colosseum/palatine/forum but also want to do the underground tour of the colosseum. Would that be redundant for the colosseum? Should I book ahead for these tours? also is there a tour that is recommended? how much time should I plan for these tours? I know the underground tour is 1.5 hr but what about the C/P/F tour?

A tour of the colosseum and the underground tour would be redundant as most of the information about the structure is the same. I would suggest one or the other. You can call to book the underground tour of the colosseum if using the romapass. This is the only option if using the pass since the website is not set up for that transaction. The phone call is quick and easy to make: 011 39 06 399 67 700 Just let them know you only need to book the tour, that you will be using the pass for entry. When they ask for an address they mean an email address in order to send you the confirmation. As for tours of the forum and palatine hill, you can book a tour of the forum onsite. I haven't taken this tour yet but I hear it's very good. I don't know about a tour of the palatine hill. You can find audio guides online that are very good and will allow you to go at your own pace. I've used these before and really like several of them. Donna

Donna - Do you not need to book the Forum tours ahead of time? Sorry to drop in on the thread, but I'm needing to do this for my mother and myself for July...so I'm very curious! :) Thanks! Kate

Unless you book with a private company you can book the forum tour once there. There is no way to do it on the official site that I'm aware of. They mention the tour but it's not something you can book online. You can call them to book: 011 39 06 399 67 700 Donna
