Colosseum night tour cancelled 2 weeks out. what are other options?

We will be in Rome mid October. We had tickets with Walks of Italy booked months in advance but they just cancelled them on us (likely due to not getting underground tickets). Now we cant find anything but a basic tour through Walks of Italy OR an AirBNB tour guide that claims to have underground as part of the tour (lots of positive reviews)

Does anyone have any experience with doing tours through AirBNB? Should we stick to the basic tour with Walks? Any other ideas/options out there?

Thanks

I encourage you not to worry over the underground portion too much. A regular tour can be a great experience.

cynth, while it's a disappointment I'm sure, I wouldn't stress over getting into the underground. Having been twice before the lower lever was even open to tourists, I can assure you that you can see down into the large section that the partial, reconstructed floor doesn't cover.

As far as tours go, I'd rather see you book one that covers not JUST the Colosseum but the Forum and Palatine as well. The other two sites are important, and more complex - especially the Forum - so there's greater benefit from the accompaniment of a knowledgeable guide. That probably means substitution of a daytime tour as (I could be wrong) I don't believe any companies do the Forum/Palatine at night. Still, there's so much more there to learn about than you would in just the few minutes of that one section of the Colosseum.
