Has anyone had luck purchasing Colosseum / Forum Arena tour tickets online from the Colosseum website? I have been trying to get for my family of five for July. The July tickets just became available this week and each time it said they were releasing tickets, website would go down and then an hour later no availability for any of the time slots for almost all the days, except a few here and there. I don't understand how that can be? I thought they would be selling a few thousand tickets for each day, so how can they have no availability right away. Maybe I am not understanding how their ticket sales work.
How do you get the tickets you want with out having to go through a tour operator?
