What do people recommend for a tour of the Colosseum and Forum? Is it too early to book anything (we'll be in Rome 9/30-10/3/22)?

Not too early. Walks of Italy is one tour organization.

We did Walks if Italy last trip and are using “ the tour guy” this trip in April. Definitely splurge for the underground arena floor it is really incredible.

Just to mention, "The Roman Guy" is part of the same company as "The Tour Guy." Roman Guy tours and Walks of Italy/Take Walks have both been recommended many times by posters who have used them. Thought I'd clarify that both companies operate under dual names, in case there was confusion. :O)
