Colosseum entry to arena floor verssu to arena?

With a ticket for the full experience with entry to the arena in the colosseum are you able to go on the arena floor as you do for the 24 hour arena floor ticket? Is there a difference between entry to the colosseum arena and entry to the colosseum arena floor? I am trying find out what ticket I will try to get in November. Thank you in advance for your reply.

The ticketing options may have changed since I did this in 2021, but here's how it worked for me. I had the "full experience" ticket. There was a timed entry, at which point we met up with our guide. (People weren't allowed to wander around the arena floor without a guide.) We toured around the underground, and then we were taken up to tour the arena. We ended up on the upper level (not the highest level--that was closed), where the guide left us, and we were free to wander around the main part of the colosseum as much as we wanted after that. Our ticket also included entry to Palatine Hill, so we went for lunch nearby and then returned to the hill.

So, to sum up, the 24 hour full experience ticket included.

  1. Entry to the arena floor and guided tour of same.
  2. Entry to the arena and guided tour of same.
  3. Access to wander freely around the open areas of the arena afterward (not including the floor or the highest level).
  4. Access to Palatine Hill within 24 hours.

Hope that helps. Enjoy!

P.S. You may want to read up about how to get tickets, especially underground access tickets, as it can be challenging. Look at posts that are recent, because the process changed a year or two ago.
