We will be in Rome in late December and would like to tour the newly opened Dungeons of the Colosseum. Has anyone heard who is providing the tours ? I'd like to make reservations if they are needed.

As of right now they are not doing tours after November 30th. They may change this but it hasn't been announced yet. Here is the current link for booking the tour. http://www.pierreci.it/16114.aspx Donna

I just got off the phone with the people at Pierreci. Today is the last day for the Hypogeum of the Colosseum. I was disappointed, because I will be there in December as well and that was something i really wanted to see.

Renee, since you can't do the Dungeons tour, for something different but interesting have you checked out the Vatican scavi tour?

well since they opened it late, i was hoping they would have extended it. i don't know if they are only going to have it as a seasonal thing, or if this was a one time deal. the conversation i had with the girl at Pierecci wasn't the easiest, so i didn't ask.

We are also interested in doing the "Hypogeum" tour in April..if available. Any furthe info on whether or not these tours will be starting up again for the tourists during Holy Week?
