Colosseum

When touring the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill is there a particular order that would be best in terms of crowds etc? What is the most impactful part of the Colosseum? Is it better to see from the bottom, top or floor entrance? I am taking my family with 2 teens sons and looking at a guided tour to maximize time, but also interest level.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry I can't recommend a specific guide - but while you are in the area - I would recommend going to the top of the Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II ("National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II") or Il Vittoriano, It is across the street from the forum (all the things you mentioned are very close together.)
Take the elevator to the top of the monument and you have almost a 360 degree view of all of Rome. It was very interesting to look around and see where various places are located in relation to others. You can stay up there as long as you want and take some amazing photos.
Happy Travels.
