I'm (hoping) to book the colosseo underground during our trip the beginning of July. I know this is an extremely popular excursion, so I want to try to book asap if possible. Is the only way to verify availability and secure tickets by calling the international Pierreci phone number? I would prefer not to have to make an international call, if we could simply book online. Although I don't want to get hit with a additional fee either. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The only way to book online that I know is through private companies that over charge you for the same tour as Pierreci. The call doesn't cost that much so that's the way I would suggest doing it. You can also skype them if you have that capability. Donna

We used romemuseum.com to buy our tickets and I was very pleased with the service. The 27.50 euros per ticket included the regular Colosseum admission fee as well as the special guided tour, and we were able to stay in the Colosseum as long as we wanted afterward. We just took our voucher to the special tour desk and they exchanged it for tickets. Very easy.

Booking through the pierreci number only costs 21.50 for the tour and the entry tickets and you can stay inside the colosseum as long as you wish before or after the tour. You can also visit the forum and palatine hill either that same day or the next. Donna

Thank you! I called this morning and was able to successfully book for our desired day. However, it was a bit challenging to communicate my email address over the phone (I should have been more prepared with clear words to use to explain the spelling- like "P as in Peter") but hopefully we're still able to receive the email confirmation.
