Colliseum Underground tour questions

"If you are using the romapass the only way to book the underground tour without being charged admission is to call and let them know you're using the pass for entry. If you book online you will be charged for admission which your romapass will cover so you'll be paying twice for the same entry." Based on previous posting about, just need a little clarification. We will be in Rome in April and plan on purchasing the Roma Pass and would like to book the Underground Tour at the Colleseum. 1) Do we need to already have purchased the Roma Pass on line before calling to book the Underground tour? 2) Is there an additional cost for the underground tour with the Roma Pass? 3) What time of day would be best? Start the day with the tour? Looks like tours are available at 9:40, noon, 2:00pm, 4:21 pm.
4) Has anyone used the Rosa Pass Iphone app? Thanks for the advice.

1. You do not have to purchase the Roma Pass before booking the Underground Tour. 2. There is an additional fee for the Underground Tour. The Roma Pass only covers general admission to the Coliseum, not the Underground and guide. 3. I would recommend the 9:40 so that the scheduled event is the first thing of the day and the rest of the day is open to do as you choose.
4. Never used it.

Karen, Just be careful and be sure that what you are actually buying is the underground tour. I was on a site that advertised it, clicked on "Buy Tickets", and it took me to a general (official, I think) colosseum ticket purchase web page, and after I paid and printed the ticket I realized it was just a general admission ticket - no tour, no underground. I was able to get a tour of the upper levels when I arrived at the colosseum, but it was too late to book the lower levels. My own fault for not verifying before hitting the "buy" button, but still, it was confusing. Good luck and have a great trip! Dave

We are interested in the Colosseum underground tour AND a tour of the Forum. Can anyone please provide a link to a good tour? Thanks!
