Hi, for our trip to Rome this June, We have Sunday and Monday free. I am trying to decide which day is best for Colisseum- Forum and Orvieto. We will allot one day for each site. We would do a tour for the Colisseum and do it on our own for Orvieto. Thanks for your help.

Well.....there are a lot of museums closed on Mondays in Rome so I would do the colosseum on Sunday and visit Orvieto on Monday. Also, on Sunday they close the via dei fori imperiali to vehicle traffic which makes it much nicer to visit the area. You'll see and hear street performers and get to stroll at your leisure down the street between the Roman forum and the imperial forum. It really makes it a nice day. Donna

Thanks a lot, Donna for helping me decide on which day is best for the Colisseum. The way you described it, Sunday seems like the best day for the Colisseum. Now, I need to decide whether to do Walksofitaly or a private tour for the Colisseum.
