We leave soon and was wondering if a jean jacket would be sufficient or if a heavier coat should tag along. Looks like the highs will be in the mid to low 70s and the lows in the 50's. Starting out in Florence and ending in Rome with a few days in Tuscany.
A jean jacket won’t really provide much warmth unless you can layer underneath
Sweater or fleece, lightweight down vest would work under the jean jacket
We were in Tuscany 10 days before Christmas a few years ago. A light jacket or sweater was nice early morning and in the evening. Otherwise we were in shirtsleeves in the middle of the day, with temperatures in the low to mid 60s.
Perhaps a water-resistant jacket in case of rain? Otherwise, probably enough as long as you can button it and layer under the jeans jacket.
A light jacket is plenty. If it rains you can always buy a cheap umbrella on the street if you don’t take one. I like to take a small traveling umbrella.
I'd go with fleece 'cause it's lightweight for packing and dries more quickly than denim if it gets wet.
Hi - returned from Italy yesterday. The temperatures are cooling down and I recommend a rain jacket. I would bring a fleece or something that can provide warmth. Some of the hotels were also stating that they cannot turn on the heat until October 15th and others stating November 1st. Best to have something warm when you need it. Enjoy your time!
