We are looking for recommendations for towns and lodging with easy access (train) to FCO and the Vatican. We would like to stay along the coast. We will be in Italy in July. We would like to go to the Vatican for one day. Thank you for your help!

Geoffrey: A little more information about your travel will get you much better advice. Like where you're flying into and where you're flying out of. How many days will you be here? Do you have any schedule in mind about what you want to see? Any special interests? How many days in Rome?

We are flying into Paris and out of Rome. We have most of the rest of the trip planned already. While in Italy, we are spending three or four nights in the Dolomites, taking the train from Bolzano to the the Cinque Terra (spending two nights in CT and two nights somewhere inbetweenany suggestions for those two nights?), and two nights outside of Rome. We don't want to stayovernight in Rometoo busy for us. We are looking for somewhere outside of Rome with easy access to the airport and to the Vatican for a day trip. We would like to stay along the coast, if possible, or in Fiumicino. Does this help? Good advice and thank you!
