Coastal stopover(s) en route from Pisa to Ventimiglia

In June we arrive in Pisa for 8 or 9 days. After that we'll make our way west by train along the coast. I'm interested in suggestions for a coastal stopover en route to Ventimiglia on the French border- a cute beach town to relax for a couple of days after a week of day trips from Pisa. (Not one of the 5 terras.) Ultimately we'll arrive at Agde on the French coast. TIA.

I much prefer the coast east of Genoa, so my suggestion would be Camogli.

Most kind, thank you. Is there a hotel or resort you recommend? If not, no worries. Thank you again, cheers from Pgh.

A few years ago we spent a night in Alassio on the way from Cinque Terre to Nice. I picked it at random from looking at a map and I was so glad I did. It was a gorgeous little town on the Italian Riveria - quiet, peaceful and hardly any American tourists (I think we were the only Americans in town - at least I never noticed any others.) It would absolutely qualify for a cute beach town, with a pier and restaurants right along the water. It was very walkable, clean, and charming. Check it out!

PS...we stayed at Hotel dei Fiori

Alassio looks perfect, thank you. Cute hotel too, but with a 3-night minimum probably a pass. Should we select this, I will let you know. Thank you for the recommendation.

Oh, that's funny because we definitely stayed only one night. But we went in late Sept so maybe it was the off-season and they didn't require the minimum. Also, maybe that's why it seemed like few tourists!

We stayed at La Camogliese hotel close to the train station. Basic hote but wonderful people, and we were able to get a room with a side view of the sea. We also ate at the restaurant of the same name and enjoyed that. Of course, this was several years ago, so your experience may vary!
