What are all the Italian women wearing in Rome, Cinque Terre and Venice in April?

Honestly? It really doesn't matter. Wear what you are normally comfortable traveling in, and pack a warm layer for chilly, breezy days or evenings. A rain jacket/coat is advised. Sturdy, broken-in walking shoes with a good grip are a MUST. You'll be treading lots of cobbles, uneven pavements and smooth stone which can be deadly slippery when wet. Lots of steps. If you plan to do any trail action in the CT, you'll be hiking dirt and LOTS of steps. A mix-and-match wardrobe (every top should go with every bottom) keeps luggage light, and dark bottoms hide a lot of mishaps and picked-up soil.

Kathy is exactly right. I was in Venice and Rome last April. I packed neutral colors with tops and bottoms matching. My clothes were fitted, not baggy, but still very comfortable. Nothing I wore would end up in Vogue. And after packing and unpacking my clothes looked like they were packed and unpacked. I hung up the next days outfit the night before. I looked presentable for a tourist. I'd bring a jacket. I lucked out and had sun just about every day with temps in the 70s but it was still chilly to me and obviously colder once the sun set. Shoes are important. The cobblestones are slippery and store owners wash their buildings early in the morning. Wet cobblestones are very slippery. Have a great trip!
