Clothes Iron

Since I do not have a travel Iron I would like to know if there is a store in Rome that sells small appliances like IRONS....I would not mind buying one there....we are staying at the Hotel Aphrodite near the Termini and would like to know if there is somewhere convenient to purchase an iron in that location? Help...Thought of it too late otherwise I could have ordered one from Walmart for only $16! HELP....I hate wrinkled clothes...

Not to be a smarty-pants, but why don't you take clothes that don't wrinkle. Then there's another trick. Run the bathtub full of hot water and hang your clothes over the steamy water.

Dee, I'd probably just ask the staff at your hotel in Rome, as I'm sure they'd know where to buy an Iron. Are you in Rome now, or do you have time to buy one before you leave? You could always have a look at www.magellans.com/clothing/clothing-clothing-care?SID= for a couple of Travel Irons. They're a bit on the "pricey" side and will probably be heavy to travel with. Magellans also has a good selektion of travel clothing that doesn't need an Iron. You could also check Tilley or Ex-Officio for good travel clothing. Happy travels!

Downey makes a spray called Wrinkle Release that works pretty well. You can buy it in a travel size bottle.

A travel iron is the one of the last thing I would consider taking - they are heavy. I bet the hotel will lend you one. Since we do not take any cotton clothing, nothing wrinkles or stays wrinkled very long.

I often take a travel iron. Mine is small and very light. There is nothing wrong with taking a travel iron to Europe if one wants to. Dee, you asked where you can get one in Rome, not "if" you should take one... I think asking your hotel as Ken suggested is your best bet. And it's a lot cheaper to buy a small travel iron than to buy a whole wardrobe of wrinkle-free clothes for your trip.

if you don't have a hotel, your apartment will likely have one. Ours have done, although we haven't used them. Coin may have them, Euronics certainly will. Maybe a "ferramenta", or hardware store. They have all sorts of stuff.
