Closings on May 1st in rome- colosseum?

We know that a lot in Rome is closed on May 1st. Is the Colosseum closed? We were able to get to the point where we could book online tickets for this, but are not sure if it is closed like many other destinations. Is the Pantheon closed too?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the Pantheon is closed on that date, but the churches surrounding it ought to be open. According to two sources I've asked, the Colosseum/Palatine Hill/Roman Forum are open on the 1st. My group will in Rome during this time and so I've planned around not relying on the Colosseum being open. Additionally, if it is open, I would predict that it would be pretty crowded with all the people on holiday. The Catacombs of Priscilla and many churches are and should be open.

Thanks Richard. We had no idea about the May 1st holiday unfortunately. Do you happen to know where the "large" outdoor concert is? I know the entire city will likely be crowded.

Thanks for your help.

I believe the concert which starts around 2PM(?) is going to be located near the San Giovanni Metro stop at Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano.

I was there 2 years ago on May 1 and the Colosseum was closed! The museums (most) should be open. Not sure about the Pantheon.
