Hi just wondering if anyone has thoughts a good hotel (under 400 euro) that is close to the airport. Looks like the Hilton doesn’t have great reviews.
Hi,
I stayed at the Hotel Isola Sacra, which was 5 minutes from Fiumicino. It was very convenient, the restaurant was good, and they have shuttles to and from the airport. The cost was no where near E400.

A friend likes staying at the Domus Lina in Fiumicino.

There are two Hilton's at Rome airport. One is a regular Hilton, in the airport, and one is a Hilton Garden Inn, with a shuttle. We stayed at the Garden Inn when we had an early flight, and it was fine, just expensive, due to the location. The hotels do book up, and get more expensive closer to the date, so don't wait until the last minute. They are also part of many reward programs, so maybe you have points you can cash in.
Have a great trip.
Google “Hilton Garden Inn Rome Airport”. They have a restaurant , bar and airport shuttle.
I spent one night at the Hilton (the one attached to the airport) before flying to London a couple years ago. The hotel was fine for one night. I paid part of the night with Hilton Honors points. Not sure what the review issues are. It is a large hotel, and check-in took a little longer than usual, but for one night we were there to sleep and that was all, it was okay. I can't speak to the food. I didn't have dinner and had an early flight so picked up coffee in the airport the next morning.
We stayed there upon arriving at FCO this spring. It was fine. Had dinner in the bar after a long travel day from the West Coast. Breakfast buffet in the morning was included and it was extensive. It was €278 including tax. I am a Hilton Honors member so received a bit of a better rate.
It was convenient and the walk back to the terminal in the morning to catch a train was simple.
Great information - thank you
I generally stay at the Airport Hilton before a flight, including last week. However I have to rethink it in the future and explore other options. It’s become too expensive. Over 320€ for one night last week. I don’t use their restaurant, since it’s not that great, and I had a car so I drove to Fiumicino (town) but I’d rather eat at one of the restaurants at the terminals before security (Eataly for example and others)
Oh, my..do NOT stay at one of those hotels along the no-man's-land strip outside the airport.
Go into Fiumicino town, which we loved, and try the TIBER or the SECCY. We've stayed a few times at the latter..should be well under 400 euro...
Have a fabulous dinner and stroll around the area along the canal...
One of our favorite restaurants in Lazio is PASCIUCCI...walking distance from the hotels I've mentioned......top quality for seafood and not at all stuffy despite its many awards..they also have rooms to rent, upstairs from the restaurant but we've not stayed there....lovely, welcoming folks and fantastic food...
I'm with ekscrunchy, go to Fiumicino town and pick anything with decent reviews. It'll run you around 100 Euros, then have a nice walk around, a nice meal, and watch the sun go down into the Tyrrhenian Sea. It's a 7 minute taxi or shuttle ride back to the airport in the morning. A much nicer way to end your trip.
I've stayed at the Seccy, Il Granello, Capitani Guest House, Rome Airport Inn, Castrichella and another one or two I can't find right now. All very acceptable, and they either had their own shuttle or they called a cab for me/us. The evening in Fiumicino is always pleasant and relaxing.
Thank you.
